Training of Naturopathic Doctor.Three years of basic premedical and basic sciences at any recognized University with a B.Sc. degree. In Alberta, all Naturopathic Physicians must receive four years of post-graduate training in an approved Naturopathic medical college. Upon graduation, the Naturopathic Physician with a doctoral degree, N.D. must write provincial board exams and must belong to the Alberta Naturopathic Association. The demand for  the Naturopathic Physicians is growing and presently there are close to one hundred naturopathic physicians are  practicing in Alberta, who are members of the Alberta Naturopathic Association. 
Most supplementary insurance companies reimburse Naturopathic Doctors fees.Naturopathic Physicians have access to a large body of knowledge derived from traditional and contemporary sources.
